DASH News Aug 28

Hello DASH families,

Our first high school meet is this coming Saturday, Sept. 3rd, at Minooka Park in Waukesha. Map.  The girls race is at 9:45, the boys race 10:30.  Let me know if you will be able to attend.  You can pick up jerseys at my practices. I will have them at the meet as well.  Parking is difficult at this meet, so arrive well before your race.

I would like to have a team race this Tuesday at the Greenfield Park practice.  Expect the race to be about two miles.  It is time to see how fast we have gotten after practicing for a few weeks.  Parents can race along with the dedicated athletes.  It is always fun.  I hope you can be there.

Thanks to Ed Beck for running practice last Thursday.  I had to work late, but I heard Ed ran everyone hard. Sounds good to me.

If you have been selling Boston Store coupons, let my wife know how you are doing.  She has to send in a report of how many we have sold.  You can turn the money in at any time, and it will count toward your team donation.

If you are a middle school athlete without a team shirt I will have them at practices this week.  Shirts are $10.  I also have adult sizes for parents who would like to look DASHing at the meets.

I will try to finalize the middle school schedule more this week.  I will keep you posted.

Take care,
Jim Caspers

Hello DASH families,

I have the high school cross country schedule set.  Let’s hope it stays set.  Our first meet is in three weeks so we need to keep practicing to get ready.  Our finale this year is going to be a Wisconsin homeschool team meet.  The DASH team is now one of at least five homeschool teams in the state and we are all going to get together on October 15th to run.  It should be fun.

The middle school races will begin September 12th.  I will be posting most of the schedule later this week.

I am going to start collecting team fees this week.  The suggested fee is $20 for middle school, plus $10 if you need a middle school team shirt.  The shirt is yours to keep and will be the same as was used last track season.  The high school fee will be $30 which includes a jersey that must be returned at the end of the season.  To help with your team fees, and to help the DASH team’s finances, you can sell Boston Store Community Day coupons.  My children sell them door-to-door in the neighborhood.  You can also sign up for a time to sell them at Mayfair Mall.  My wife will post those times soon.  They usually sell pretty easy.

This week we will be practicing Tuesday and Thursday, 6:15 PM, at Greenfield Park in West Allis.  I hope you can join us.

Take care,
Jim Caspers
